The 11 Tile Trends We're Looking Forward to Most This Year

The wait is over, and the top bathroom tile trends for 2025 are in! Previous years saw the rise and fall of the all-white and spa bath trends. However, this year is all about bright colors, bold choices, and vibrant maximalist patterns. Get ready, because these tile trends are here to make a splash! And the LiLi Tile team couldn't be more excited. We're sharing 11 of our favorite bathroom tile trends for the year. Which will make it into your next renovation project?

Our Favorite Bathroom Tile Trends for 2025

1. Pretty in (Pastel) Pink

Pastels have made it into the trending color rotation, especially shades like Sabrina Carpenter's signature blue and the virally demure coquette pink. We think these shades are perfect for the bathroom, especially as vanity backsplashes. Get the look with patterns like our Tiffany, Pebble, and Valentina cement tiles.

2. Reviving the Retro Checkerboard

Our next tile trend looks to the past. That's right. The design world is reviving the retro checkerboard, but this new take is nothing like the 50s diner you may be picturing. The checkerboard pattern has so much more to offer than simple black and white. Designers and homeowners are reimagining this look with shades of blue, green, and pink. Create your own checkerboard design with 30 color options using our Solid Square cement tiles.

3. Color Drenching Everything

What is color drenching? Only our newest favorite trend! Forget adding just a pop of color to the shower niche. Color drenching coats the entire bathroom in your favorite shade, creating a cohesive, immersive, and daring design. The color drenching technique can be used across fixtures, paint, and tile. Get even more creative by pairing different tile shapes, like XOXOs and arabesques, together in the same shade for added visual texture.

4. And Color Blocking, Too!

Color blocking is a technique associated with the Memphis and Bauhaus styles. It's similar to color drenching but involves applying two or more contrasting colors in distinct blocks or sections within a space. For example, you could color-block a shower enclosure by using different tiles on the wall, floor, and shower niche. This look is fun and playful, so stick with bright colors like orange, green, and blue tiles.

5. Warming Up Neutrals

Stark white is out. But there is still room for neutrals in our 2025 bathroom tile trends! Instead of cold white subway tiles, look for warm neutral tiles in shades of cream, beige, or even brown. One of our favorite neutral tiles is terracotta. These wood-fired tiles offer a beautiful handmade look and natural variation in warm shades of burnt orange and white clay. Now, this is how you do neutral in 2025!

6. Matte Meet Gloss

Mixing and matching different tiles in the bathroom is also becoming a popular look. While this includes colors and patterns, it also means mixing tile textures too. Matte, we'd like to introduce you to Gloss. Combining a matte and gloss tile in the same space brings subtle texture variation and interest while sticking to a uniform color palette. For example, you could lay cement tile on the floor and contrast it with a Zellige wall backsplash in a similar shade. The contrast will be revealed with the reflection of light for a beautifully subtle result.

7. Playing With Pattern

Here at LiLi, we love pattern, which you can tell from some of our Designer Collections with artists like Hollis Callas and Adam Trest. It's safe to say there is no shortage of tile patterns here! When playing with pattern, we recommend pairing different designs in the same color palette to ensure they coordinate. Also, it's best to combine simple and intricate patterns together to achieve balance. Remember, you don't want to overload the space!

8. Imports from A to Zellige

Tile imports from Italy, Mexico, and Morocco are trending thanks to a newfound appreciation of handmade character. For example, our Zellige tiles are handmade in Morocco using a process that's been passed down for centuries. The result is clay tiles with variations in texture and color glazing for a beautifully one-of-a-kind look.

9. Biophilic Design Motifs

Biophilic design is for all the plant lovers out there! Houseplants have become popular home additions, and proud plant parents are bringing their love of nature to their bathroom tile. This means embracing shades of green, floral patterns, and nature motifs. Our Flora Series cement tiles are the perfect fit for this look!

10. And the Sustainable Materials to Back Them Up

For nature lovers, biophilic designs are just scratching the surface. Many homeowners are also doing the research to find sustainable materials that look beautiful while doing their part to protect the planet. Here at LiLi, we're also passionate about sustainable design, which is why our cement tiles are made using an eco-friendly process that's energy-free, pollution-free, and uses all-natural materials.

11. Tile...Everywhere

Finally, the last bathroom tile trend for 2025 is simply...more tile! This means tiling the floors, walls, shower, countertops, and even the ceiling. Cladding the entire bathroom in tile is a bold design choice but also a practical one that allows for easy cleaning and increased durability.

Which Tile Trend is Your Favorite?

Well, the lineup of 2025 bathroom tile trends has certainly made a splash! Which ones were your favorite? Will you be color-drenching your bathroom in your favorite shade of pastel pink? Or, will you take inspiration from nature for a biophilic design using natural materials like terracotta and cement tile? The choice is yours, and we can't wait to see what you create.
