Stunning tile and colors

Gorgeous, but imperfect and difficult to work with

I absolutely love my finished floor! It is stunning; bold but classic.
However, the tiles are hard to work with and we had to find a new tile installer after the first one wasn’t capable of getting the tiles flat and lined up perfectly. It sounds like a no brainer, but the tiles are hand made and have all 90degree edges- no bevels to help hide imperfections in individual tile height when laid in the mud. Also, the tiles are prone to cracking and crumbling if extreme caution isn’t used. They are also susceptible to staining and scratches even with 4 coats of the recommended sealer on top (another time consuming aspect of install). The tile guys put tape across the doorway to keep people out but the electrician went in with dirty boots and left faint white mud print stains and scratches on the tiles. I am questioning the durability of these beautiful hand made tiles and am mentally preparing myself for them to quickly have a ‘worn, vintage look’ to them. I don’t know that I’m mad about it though. If any tile can pull off that look it would be the green flora tiles (#7)
